PROFESSIONAL/ VOLUNTEER with experience tutoring ESL! Recently graduated the University of Massachusetts- Amherst with a Bachelor in Communication, minor in Portuguese, and Certificate in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. I am also in the process of being a certified Tutor.
Experience
I am a currently an AmeriCorp member serving my community at an after school program in Lynn, MA. I daily interact with kids ranging in ages from 5-16. Although, I mostly work with middle school and high school aged girls. I serve as a tutor specifically helping girls who are English Language Learners. I assist them with language homework (English, Spanish & Portuguese), Social Studies, Writing & Reading and I help them develop better studying skills. I want to be a tutor because I truly enjoy the work that I do, and I would like the opportunity to continue helping kids succeed. I consider myself to be very patient and understanding person as I grew up with an Autistic cousin whom I've helped and tutored all my life.
